Santa Monica Blues

I had the most amazing holiday in Santa Monica, it lived up to my expectations and more. I loved that I was a ten minuet walk from Free People (I made quite a few visits). The shopping in Santa Monica is out of this world, it has every shop you can think of. Venice Beach is also good for shopping, there is some unique pieces and great t shirts.

I went on my own and met so many interesting people. I met a guy at the hotel pool who was a roadie with The Rolling Stones in the 1990's, he had so many cool stories and was off the following night to watch them at the Honda Center.

I dont have that many pictures of myself (the downside of travelling alone) that and having no one to apply suntan lotion to your back, as I found out on the first day I decided to hit the beach.

I hit Venice Beach pretty much everyday it was about a three mile walk from my hotel, the walk was literally following the coastline so a real beautiful walk. I couldnt resist getting a few tattoos done at House of Ink.

Now I am left with the holiday blues, so I am planning my next trip there :)

I scored these paisley printed jeans from H&M the other day. The colour mix is perfect for a sunny day. I have been living in black for so long it feels weird wearing lighter colours.
I am off shopping today for my last few holiday essentials, two weeks today and I fly of to LA.

Finally a day where I can ditch the tights, this cold weather has been going on far to long. The dress was a gift from the lovely guys over at AX Paris and the hat was an Easter pressie from my wondefrful mum (so much healthier than chocolate). I tied a micro dot scarf round it, totally ripping the look off the fabulous Erin Wasson.

My holiday is fast approaching and I have been buying so many fabulous things, I cant wait to get out there now and taste a bit of Californian life.

Longing for Summer

The lovely guys over at Free People sent me the tee and boots to style up. I was so stoked when they contacted me, they are totally one of my fave places to shop and I am looking forward to hitting their Santa Monica store when I am out there.

I am in love with the ankle boots, I cant wait to wear them in the summer with cut offs, they work just as well with my black skinnies, I wanted to wear them straight away so had to make them cold proof. The long sleeve top is amazing the detail on the back is stunning and the dipped hem is the perfect finish. Oh and yes it is that leopard print coat again, this will not be leaving my back until this freaking cold weather "does one"  (which is not looking like any time soon)

Elephant Cuff

It is funny how things creep into your wardrobe, I have noticed a little trend in mine with elephants it started off with this tee here, then this hat here and now this super cute elephant cuff. I scored it off ebay for a bargain £2.99 check it out here.

I picked this beaut tie dye fringe top from AX Paris, I thought it would be perfect for my little trip to Santa Monica. It looked rad teamed with my much loved American Apparel disco pants, I have not tried any of the copies out there but these really are a dream to wear. There is an American Apparel store in Santa Monica so I am going to stock up. I think I defo need a red and gold pair in my life.
